By car:

From the North: From the A1 take the A61 to Thirsk then follow the A170 towards Helmsley. Before Helmsley turn right onto the B1257 and follow the brown signs for Castle Howard. Drive through the Castle Howard estate as far as the Obelisk roundabout and turn right, signed to The Arboretum.

From the South: Exit from the A1M at Junction 45 and follow the A64 east towards York. Continue on the A64 past York and then follow the brown signs for Castle Howard. Pass through the Estate walls and turn left at the Obelisk roundabout, signed to The Arboretum.

Parking:

Ample, free parking is available at the event. Please follow the signs and stewards' directions when you arrive.

By Public Transport:

Details of the bus services operating in the area can be found here. It is only a short walk from the Castle Howard bus stop to Wild About Wood.

Dogs:

Dogs are very welcome at the Wild About Wood festival, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Accessibility:

We regret that the terrain of the arboretum is not suitable for wheelchair access, or for visitors with very limited mobility. Please select footwear suitable for uneven, grassy ground.
